Red Chili Rub recipe

I love using rubs, particularly for grilling ribs or on just about anything in the smoker.  This one is particularly good for baby-back ribs – the amounts will suffice for about 3 or 4 racks.

  • 1 Tbsp. ancho chile powder
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 2 tsp. granulated garlic
  • 2 tsp. ground black pepper

Of course I tend to toss in some paprika, (primarily for color), and a little garlic powder “just because”. 😉 Just mix in a small bowl, (I use a fork), and set aside until you are ready to rub down those baby-backs!
